Basque Country

Basque country is one of the most mysterious countries in the world. No one knows where they come from. Their language, Euskera, does not belong to Indo-European Languages unlike the most of the European countries including Spain. Basque separatist political parties have been seeking its independence from Spain, and since 1959, ETA, Basque armed separatist organization, had been launching violent campaign against the Spanish administrations until 2011 when they announced “definitive cessation of its armed activity” and ended the longest war in Europe. During the armed conflict, more than 1,000 people were killed.
